Anna Hildegarde Blomgren, 98, of Bethany Beach passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Woodland Terrace, Bridgman, MI.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Harbert Community Church, 6444 Harbert Road, Sawyer, MI with Reverend Jay Fast and Reverend James Kramer officiating. The family will meet with friends on Wednesday from 10-11 am, prior to the service at the church. Hildegarde was born September 18, 1917 in Chicago, the daughter of the late John and Hilda (Svejd) Anderson. On December 29, 1945 she married Roland A. Blomgren and he preceded her in death on August 3, 2004. She was a member of Ogden Park Covenant Church, Calvary Covenant Church, Chicago, IL, Glen Ellyn Covenant Church, Glen Ellyn, IL, Faith Covenant Church, Wheaton, IL and Harbert Community Church Harbert, MI. Hildegarde enjoyed traveling throughout the world and sailed Lake Michigan, the Virgin Islands, the Galapagos Islands and Antarctica.

Hildegarde was an active member at each of the churches she attended. She participated in choir, “Ladies Aid,” Ladies Sewing Circle as well as Covenant Women locally and nationally. For many years she also assisted in packing missionary supply barrels headed for South America and the Belgium Congo.

She is survived by sons - John (Louise) Blomgren of Sawyer, MI and James Blomgren of Holland, MI; daughters - Joan (Paul) Victor of New York City, NY and Susanne Powell of Sleepy Hollow, IL; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and one sister, Bea Anderson of Batavia, IL. Another sister, Jane Aronson preceded her in death, January, 2013

Arrangements have been entrusted to Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman, MI.
