Alan L. Zilke, 85 of Bridgman went to be with his Savior on the Lord’s Day, Sunday, September 25, 2016 at West Woods of Bridgman.

A funeral service will be held 11 AM Friday, September 30, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 9650 North Church Street, Bridgman with Reverend Thomas Brazinsky officiating. Friends may meet with the family 5 - 7 PM Thursday, at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church, PO Box 26, Bridgman, MI 49106 or Hospice at Home, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, MI 49085.

Alan was born June 4, 1931 in Bridgman the son of the late John R. And Lydia (Gast) Zilke. Alan was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a graduate of Bridgman High School. He served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the Bridgman American Legion Post 331. Alan was a contractor and built many homes in the area.

On April 2, 1955 he married Emily Svorec and she survives along with two sons: Dale (Julie) Zilke of Winchester, VA and Bruce (Sharon) Zilke of Hanover, MN; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild; and a brother: David (Chris) Zilke.

Alan was preceded in death by his daughter Cheryl and her husband John Oldenburg.
