Albert Daniels

Mr. Daniels was born September 15, 1917 in Chicago the son of the late Lee and Alice (Daly) Daniels. He was an Eagle Scout and attended York High School in Elmhurst, Illinois, and graduated from St. Joseph High School in St. Joseph, Michigan. On February 22, 1935 he married the former Evelyn Bousfield -- a union that lasted 73 years.

A 1941 graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Police Administration, Daniels later successfully completed advanced training through the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1942. Upon entering the military, Bert Daniels was a LT JG in the US Navy and served during WWII in the South Pacific on the USS Frazier DD607, earning numerous awards and citations leading to an honorable discharge in 1946. He was further honored in 1999 for his military service by the City of Elmhurst, Illinois, when he was chosen as the Grand Marshall for that town's Memorial Day celebration.

Daniels received his Juris Doctorate in 1950 from Kent College of Law, working during the day while attending law school at night. He was President of legal fraternity Phi Delta Phi at Kent Law School. He was an Assistant Illinois Attorney General from 1972 to 1985 and had been an Assistant U.S. Trustee in Bankruptcy. He was a member of the American Bar since 1950 and practiced law in Chicago and Elmhurst until 1991 when he retired to Bridgman, Michigan and Naples, Florida. He also found time for fishing, golfing and tennis
