Anneliese S. Heggen, 89, of Bridgman passed away on Friday, May 6, 2011 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland, St. Joseph.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM Wednesday, May 11 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 3903 Lake Street, Bridgman, with Father Arthur Howard as Celebrant. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman, from 6-8 PM, where a Rosary will be offered at 7 PM. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

Mrs. Heggen was born February 23, 1922 in W. Vohwinkel, Germany the daughter of the late Hermann and Antoinette (Hammer) Schluer. On July 19, 1962 she married W. Gregor Heggen. She was a faithful member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bridgman and a graduate of Loyola University, Chicago. Anneliese immigrated from Germany in 1949 and after graduating from Loyola University, Chicago began a 15 year career in the medical field as a medical technologist.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, W. Gregor; a son - Kevin (Anna) Heggen of Sawyer; a daughter - Raphaela (Graham) Ades of Thailand; grandchildren Lauren, Samantha; a dear family friend - James (Connie) Plukas of Bridgman and their children, Jessica, Michael and Jim Jr.

Anneliese was also preceded in death by a brother, Heinz Schluer.
