Barbara Elaine Reisig

Barbara Elaine Reisig of Baroda passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Woodland Terrace, Bridgman.

A celebration of Barbara’s new life with Christ will be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Woodland Shores Baptist Church, 3555 W. Shawnee Road, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family from 5-7 PM on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman. Barbara was born March 20, 1939, the first of two daughters born to George and Marie (Pache) Unruh. She was confirmed, married and later worked as a Church Secretary at Zion UCC in Baroda. She was a 1957 graduate of Baroda High School (the last class to graduate from that school as a Baroda Bulldog). Shortly after attending Benton Harbor Jr. College, she started her first job at Gersonde Equipment Company. In 1960, she met & married Norm and went on to raise 3 children. During that time, she also worked as the Baroda Township Clerk for 22 years, was a class administrator and a discussion leader for Bible Study Fellowship for many years.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and gathering with friends, sewing, crocheting, ceramics, baking and reading. She was a very giving & loving person and will be greatly missed by so many.

Barbara is survived by her son, Michael (Christine) Reisig; daughters, Kristin (John) Burg, and Julie Reisig; grandchildren Eric Burg, Anna Burg, Ethan Vines, Evan Vines, Shelby Rhoades and Dakota (Chloe) Weiffenbach; sister Marilyn (Dean) Schmaltz.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Norman Reisig of 57 years, and her parents.
