Betty Hellen

Betty Jane Van Hellen, 84 of Bridgman passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Woodland Terrace in Bridgman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, September 21, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 9650 N. Church Street, Bridgman with Reverend Jon Bendewald officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 10 - 11AM prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be given to the Bridgman Public Library, 4460 Lake Street, Bridgman.

Betty was born March 12, 1928 in Michigan City, Indiana the daughter of the late Edward and Eva (Kugler) Krieger. On December 13, 1947, she married Charles Van Hellen and he preceded her in death on January 10, 1984.

Survivors include her children, Barbara Topp of Bridgman, Lorraine (Bruce) Lenardson of Plainwell, Michigan; Grandchildren - Michelle (Jeff) Saylor, David (Tracy) Lenardson, Bryan (Amber) Topp, Peter (Sarah) Lenardson, Benjamin (Amanda) Lenardson; 10 great grandchildren; brother - Darwin (Peggy) Krieger of Bridgman; sisters - Dolores (Lee) Davis of Stevensville, Dorothea Crocker of Bridgman, and Barbara (Carl) Franzon of Sawyer.

Betty was also proceeded in death by brothers - Edward, Tom and LeRoy Krieger.
