Brenda Sue Wilkes

Brenda Sue Wilkes, 74, of Bridgman passed away peacefully on March 16, 2022 at Country Manor Care Center.

Brenda, the daughter of the late Cass and Mellie (Green) Pawlowski, was born on November 16, 1947. She graduated River Valley High School and later attended Lake Michigan College where she earned her Licensed Practical Nurse certification.

On June 6, 1965 she married the late Donald Wilkes and they led a loving, adventurous life together that spanned over 50 years.

Brenda was a nurse and worked at Jordan’s Nursing Home for over 25 years.  While there she was known for the compassionate, loving care she gave to her patients.

Brenda led a happy, joyful life that revolved around family and friends.  Traveling on many vacations with her daughter Andrea and granddaughter Vallerie were some of the most cherished times of her life.  She also enjoyed shopping, flower gardening, and spending time with friends.

Survivors include her daughter Andrea (Chris) Fryling; grandchildren Vallerie Floyd and Ryan Fryling; and special niece Valerie Lampley.

Brenda was preceded in death by husband Donald Wilkes, son Mark Wilkes, and special canine friend Rosie.
