Our loving father and husband, Brian Keith Mutz, 69, passed away at his home in Bridgman on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, August, 10, 2026, at 11 AM, at Pioneer Memorial Church, 8655 University Blvd., Berrien Springs, with Elder Bryan von Dorpowski officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, August 9, 2026 from 2-4 PM at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. Brian was born on April 3, 1957 to Edward and Elaine (Tietz) Mutz. Growing up, he was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bridgman and attended the church school there. He graduated in 1975 from Bridgman High School. Brian was a proud resident of Bridgman where he lived in his lifelong home.

Three weeks after graduation, he began his 41-year career at Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant in Bridgman. There he obtained his Senior Reactor Operators License, worked as a Shift Manager, and various other positions at the plant. Brian retired in 2016 to spend more time with his family and enjoy his hobbies. He had a servant heart and was often helping others complete outdoor projects.

Brian married Dawn Warren at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bridgman on May 17, 1992 and they had two sons, Brenden and Ryan.

Brian became a member of the Pioneer Memorial Church in 2003 where he was a Deacon and sang in the Sanctuary Choir.

Brian enjoyed a variety of interests including antique and rock collecting, gardening, cycling, photography, traveling, grilling, and fishing.

Brian is survived by his wife, Dawn Mutz; children: Brenden Mutz and Ryan (fiancée Leah Toltesi) Mutz; brothers: Alan (Candace) Mutz and Howard (Tracey) Mutz; sister, Donna Mutz; nieces: Samantha (Tony) Bischoff, Genna (Rob) Fragale, and Niki Mutz; and cousins: Shirley Johnson, Jan Hosteleler, Chris Tschida, and Mark Johnson.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Elaine Mutz; and Baby Mutz.

Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman, MI 49106.
