Catherine “Kay” Mary McGuan, 91, of Sawyer passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Woodland Terrace, Bridgman.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM Saturday, August 30 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sawyer with the Rev. Don Suberlak, C.R. as Celebrant. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Three Oaks. Friends may meet with the family from 10 AM until the time of the service at church. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to Woodland Terrace.

Mrs. McGuan was born November 4, 1916 in Chicago the daughter of the late Austin and Catherine (Burke) Regan. On April 25, 1942 she married John Patrick McGuan and he preceded her in death on October 18, 2001. Kay was a teacher with the Chicago Public Schools for 30 years, retiring in 1979.

Kay was the loving mother of Sean (Patricia) McGuan of Lyndhurst, Ohio, Austin (Susan) McGuan of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Kevin McGuan of Harbert, Terry Kathleen (Patrick) McDermott of Chicago, and Mary Joan (Rick) Wilcoxen of Ridgewood, New Jersey; devoted grandmother of Sean (Hope) McGuan Jr., Martin (Meghan) McGuan, Kathleen (Kyle) Fleming, Michael and Austin McGuan, Ryan (Lindsay) McGuan, Bridget McGuan, Brendan (Margaret) McDermott, Erin (Joseph) Goldrick, Catherine and Grant Wilcoxen; cherished great grandmother of Anabel, Coleman, Clara, Patrick and Moira Grace McGuan, Eleanor and James Fleming; dear sister of Joan Haskins of Northbrook, Illinois; and loving aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Kay was also preceded in death by a brother, Austin E. Regan; and brother-in-law, Don Haskins.
