Biography
Kate was born to Paul and Elsie Strouts in Millburg, Michigan on June 16, 1922.She grew up in Benton Harbor and on May 31, 1948 married Henry Ferdinand Palenske. Kate and Ferd enjoyed traveling and camping throughout the country. They enjoyed 45 years of marriage before his death in 1994. She enjoyed many special friendships, including special neighbors, The Gerber Ladies, and the students and staff of New Troy Elementary School.
Kate was a homemaker, a refinisher, and an accomplished decorator. She took great pride in her home and her yard. Her special wagon graces the front of her property and provides seasonal enjoyment for all passersby. She especially enjoyed decorating and celebrating Christmas. Kate loved her community.

Survived By Kate and Ferd are survived by their children – Lizbeth (Garry) Lange, Steven (Jill Eady) Palenske, Scott (MaryAnn) Palenske, and Seth (Karen) Palenske. Their grandchildren are Scotty, Tori, Brittney, and Jasmine Palenske. Her younger sister, Jackie Schreiber, also survives Kate. Many nieces and nephews also survive her. Her parents and four siblings also preceded her in death – Roy Strouts, Robert Strouts, Doris Rutkoskie and Cecil Ekrut.
