Charles Stephen Fox

Charles “Steve” Stephen Fox age 69, of Buchanan, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday July 14th, 2026 at home with family under the care of hospice.

Charles was born on December 16, 1956 in Niles, Michigan. He was the child of Charles Arthur Fox and Wilma “Susan” LaVonne Stephens. Steve graduated from Niles High School after which he helped to run Phillippi Fruit Farm and Cider Mill with his wife Connie and her parents Merle and LaVerne Phillippi. After many years farming he then went on to have a fulfilling career as a Tool and Die maker at Standard Tool and Die.

In his younger years Steve traveled around the country for canoe racing with his wife Connie. Later he transitioned to traveling around the country with Connie and their daughters for horse shows. Although he was not an avid equestrian, Steve was always at the rail to watch his girls win World and National titles. In his retirement years Steve enjoyed international travel and loved exploring new cultures. He developed a deep passion for snorkeling and boasted that his favorite place was French Polynesia.

Steve married Connie Lynn Phillippi in 1976 and they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in September of this year.

Survivors include his wife: Connie Fox and daughters: Kimberly and Alyssa.
