Chuck was born on September 21, 1935 in Three Rivers the son of the late David and Marian (Watson) Hadley. On May 13, 1989, he married his best friend, Carol Hadley. During their 31 years together, they enjoyed wintering in Ft. Myers, FL, taking cruises, dancing (especially at the Elk's Club in Cape Coral, FL), walking, traveling, and playing games and cards with friends and family.  Chuck also liked watching sports and western movies on TV.

Chuck graduated from Bridgman High School and later enlisted in the Army National Guard.  At the age of 18, Chuck became a Standard Oil dealer and continued with Standard Oil/Amoco for over 40 years. During this time, Chuck also owned several service stations, Hadley's Towing Service, convenience stores, car washes, apartments, and a drive-in restaurant.  Chuck often joked that at one time or another he had employed half of the Bridgman area.  Chuck retired from business in 1997 at the age of 62.

Chuck was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph and served as an usher.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Doris Blachut.
