Charlotte was born on September 3,1958 to Barbara and Robert Moody in Lancaster, Ohio. One of her favorite memories as a little girl was stopping by her uncle’s grocery store to buy penny candy after school and riding her bicycle to visit her grandmother. Her grandmother worked in the school cafeteria and she would leave money on her food tray. Charlotte’s family relocated to Heath, Ohio in 1970, where she attended Heath Middle School and graduated from Heath High School in 1976. She married her high school sweetheart Gordon Ray Burch in 1979. She gave birth to two children, daughter Corinne, and son Ryan.

Music was her passion. Charlotte played the flute and piccolo for over 30 years as a member of the Southshore Concert Band and the Saint Joseph Municipal Band. She first bonded with Gordon over their shared love of music in middle school band. Charlotte loved attending live concerts, plays and other musical events. She never missed her kids’ or grandkids’ concerts or events and spent many Saturdays on a bus chaperoning the marching band traveling to competitions. She especially loved the music of Jason Mraz and The Goo Goo Dolls. Charlotte and Gordon always supported and encouraged each other in their musical pursuits whether they were playing together or separately. She passed her love of music down to her kids and grandkids and anyone she came in contact with.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother and everyone in the family would come to her for guidance and advice. With her passing, her family will most likely think, “What Would Charlotte Do?”, when confronted with a challenge or dilemma. She was the heart, the soul and the conscience of the family. Her greatest pride came from watching her children and grandchildren thrive and grow into fine loving adults.

Charlotte is survived by her husband, Gordon Burch; her children: Corinne Burch-Spitzer and Ryan Burch; her grandchildren: Lily Zilke and Griffin Spitzer; her parents, Barbara and Robert Moody; her brother, James (Leslie) Moody; and her sister, Cheryl (Jeff) Maransky.

She worked hard to make life better for everyone around her, and she succeeded. Her family remembers her with deep love and appreciation. Her passing will leave a giant hole in their hearts.

Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman.
