Cheryl Smith

Cheryl Anne Smith, 73 of Sawyer, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 in the care of her family.

Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the Boyd Chapel of Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman. Burial will be in New Troy Cemetery, New Troy. Friends may meet with the family from 10 - 11AM Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Humane Society of Southwest Michigan, 641 S. Crystal Avenue, Benton Harbor, MI 49022.

Cheryl was born February 12, 1944, the daughter of the late Frederick and Marion (Gross) Rahn. She worked at Jordan’s Nursing Home, Bridgman for over 20 years. On November 8, 1986 she married Horace “Burl” Smith and he preceded her in death on November 7, 1993. Cheryl loved animals and will be missed by her K9 companion, Gabby and her cats, Kia and Fritzie.

Survivors include her children: Gregory (Deby) Clay, Lisa (Kurt) Westling and Kellie (Alan Tassell) Clay; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren; a sister Karen (Bob) Book.

Cheryl was also preceded in death by a daughter, Karrie Clay in 1968.
