Clayton Wurtz

Clayton Lee Wurtz, 64, of Baroda passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at his home.

A memorial service will be held 11 AM Friday, October 31, 2208 at Zion United Church of Christ in Baroda with Rev. Christopher Noffke officiating. Private burial of cremated remains will be in Ruggles Cemetery, Baroda. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to Hospice at Home or Wanetta Wurtz.

Lee was born June 10, 1944 in Ypsilanti. He was proud to serve in the US Navy. On August 6, 1966 he married the former Wanetta J. Krumroy. Lee and Wanetta moved to Texas and lived there for 25 years and returned to Michigan in 2001. He had worked for Martin Marietta Sand.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Wanetta; two daughters – Rhonda Wurtz of New Castle, Virginia and Sherry Richoz of Baroda; two grandchildren – Clay Richoz and Briana Richoz; his parents – Clayton and Pearl (Kugle) Wurtz of Baroda; four sisters – Virginia Watkins of Baroda, Mary Beth (Doug) Harmon of Baroda, Wendy (Tom) Shafer of Baroda, and Gail (Todd) Herrick of Grand Haven; and a brother, Jay (Jan) Wurtz of Bridgman.

Lee was preceded in death by a brother, Verne Wurtz, in 2004.
