Daniel was born on July 7, 1946, in Benton Harbor, Michigan the youngest son of Hazel Wells. His life was a full of love, laughter, and great music. A student of Benton Harbor schools, his work in the area was paralleled by his passion for music, which he played drums in several bands over the decades. He had the ability to play any music in any style for hours on end. Dan's life was forever changed when he met the love of his wife Susan. Their love story exploded over night and together they found true love and joy of everyday life for the past 18 years.

An avid golf enthusiast, bowler and the Detroit Tigers' biggest fan, Dan's love for baseball was infectious, and he took great joy in teaching his children the sport. Many weekends were spent on the field with his children, creating memories that will forever echo in the hearts of his family.

Christmas Eve at Dan's house was a one of his favorite traditions that has took place for over 50 years, being filled with card games, laughter, food and the annual hang out for family and friends, a gathering he eagerly anticipated each year.

Dan was a man of unique character, known for his timely and memorable expressions. His 1960s lingo, though quaint, carried wisdom and humor that resonated with all who heard it. His oft-repeated phrase, "Can You Believe That," will forever echo in our minds, a reminder of his witty and thoughtful nature. As he might have said if writing this himself, "Don't worry about this Nickel and Dime stuff," a testament to his focus on what truly mattered in life. For those who knew him well can hear him say “You Understand What I'm Saying”

Survivors include his sons: Dan Wells, Tim (Dana) Wells, and Randy (Shonda) Wells; daughter: Dawn (Ken) Stanton; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dan was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Sue; sisters: Betty and Marcia; brothers: Bob, Chuck, and Robert; and his dear mother: Hazel

While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the indelible impact he made during his time with us. Dan Wells will forever be remembered as a devoted father, a loving husband, a passionate musician, and a cherished friend. His legacy of love, laughter, and music will continue to resonate like a drum in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him
