David Paul Mutz, 75, of Bridgman passed away in the care of his family on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman, MI 49106. Friends may meet with the family from 10-11 AM on Monday at the funeral home, prior to the service. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. David was born September 24, 1948 in St. Joseph, the son of the late Henry and Mildred (Reck) Mutz. Dave attended Immanuel Lutheran School, Bridgman. He served three years in the marines as a combat engineer. After his time in the service, he attended trade school at Lake Michigan College where he received his Trades Certification. He then worked as a tool and die operator at Whirlpool and Wolverine’s Metal Stamping. Dave owned his own fishing charter boat and was an avid fisherman. He was also a volunteer firefighter, commander at the Bridgman American Legion, Post 331 in 1989 for a year, and commander at the legion again in 2013 until his passing. Dave was a proud lifelong member of the NRA and a collector of many, many things.
Survivors include his son: Daniel (Katie) Mutz; cousins: Chris Reck, Shirley (Richard) Johnson, and Jan Hostetler.
David was preceded in death by his brother: Steve Mutz.
Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman.
