Donna Lee Hieber

Donna Lee (Zielke) Hieber, 62, of Roanoke Rapids, NC (formerly of Bridgman, MI) passed away unexpectedly at her residence on July 6, 2026.

A gathering of remembrance will be held at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman, MI on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 from 5-7 PM where friends and family can share stories and memories to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that you make a donation to the American Cancer Society or a similar Cancer Research organization as she knew several friends and family members who were afflicted with cancer. Donna born on May 8, 1962 in St. Joseph to George and Loretta (Hauch) Zielke. She was a 1980 graduate of Bridgman High School and lived throughout the Southwest Michigan region for the first half of her life. She worked with the family business in the late 1990’s before moving to Tucson, AZ. After a short while in Tucson, she moved back to Michigan and then to the Virginia/North Carolina area for the remainder of her life. She worked from home as a transcriptionist before retiring in 2020. She spoke often and fondly about family and friends whom she loved dearly and her relationship with God and the peace He brought her.

Donna is survived by three children: Ryan (Alicia) VanTuyl, Brent (Kimberly) VanTuyl, and Bradley (Erica) VanTuyl; and six grandchildren. Additionally, she was survived by a brother, George (Tracy) Zielke.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George (Sr.) and Loretta; and her brother, Dave.
