Doreen Sue Hammons

Doreen Sue Hammons, 67, of Sawyer passed away on Thursday July 16, 2026 at Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville, Michigan.

Doreen was born on May 2, 1959 in LaPorte, Indiana, the daughter of the late Duane Lantz and Josephine (Schnick) Lantz. On September 6, 1982 she married Daniel Hammons. Doreen worked as a chef for a catering company for 14 years. She loved her grandkids, and enjoyed collecting beach glass as she walked along the shore of Lake Michigan.

Survivors include husband: Daniel; Erin (Patrick) Surch and Dana (Trenton) Prentice; grandchildren: Alaina, Evan, and Josephine; siblings: Janet Schmidt, Jackie (John) Steele, Dennis (Leslie) Lantz, Donna (Lynn) Warner and Joyce (Robin) Schultz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: David Lantz, Debbie Decker, and Jeff Lantz.
