Mr. Fester was born July 9, 1924 in Benton Harbor the son of the late Gottlieb and Elizabeth (Rach) Fester. He was a veteran of the US Navy. On July 3, 1954 he married the former Harriet E. Kallies. Ed was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bridgman and the Bridgman American Legion Post 331. He worked for Pemco as a shipping clerk and machinist, retiring after 40 years of service in 1989.

Survived By his wife of 53 years, Harriet; two sons – Thomas (Linda) Fester of Strongsville, Ohio and James (Mary) Fester of Des Plaines, Illinois; two granddaughters – Kim (Joe) Morano of Lyons, Illinois and Timmie Lyn Barker of Lemont, Illinois; four great grandchildren – Nick, Timmy, Maria, and Austin; and four sisters – Helen (Ervin) Schmaltz of Baroda, Ruth Twarucsek, Dolores Fester, and Jeanette Fester all of Benton Harbor.
