Edward Lundin

Edward Robert Lundin, 90, of Bethany Beach, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 20, 2009 at his home.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, March 24 at Woodland Shores Baptist Church, Bridgman with Reverend Winston Decker officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Three Oaks. Friends may meet with the family from 6-8 PM today, March 23 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to Woodland Shores Baptist Church.

Ed was born February 14, 1919 in Joliet, Illinois to the late Edwin and Lydia (Anderson) Lundin. He joined the Army during WWII and he served overseas as a Military Police officer. On February 10, 1945 he married the former Naomi “Nome” Berg and she preceded him in death on March 26, 2004. After returning from the Army they lived in the Chicago area and moved to Michigan in 1948. Ed was a Bricklayer, and was known for his excellent work. After moving to Michigan, they were charter members of Sawyer Highlands Baptist Church. He was active at the church as a Trustee, Boys Brigade leader, sang in the choir, played in the String Band, and served in many areas through the years.

Survivors include his four children – Bonnie (Tim) Miner, Jim (Lisa) Lundin, Holly (Rick) Blake all of Sawyer, and Deb Lundin of Baroda; ten grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and his “little angel” dog, Daisy Mae.

Ed was also preceded in death by an infant son, Bruce; a grandson; a great granddaughter; and a brother, Earl Lundin.

Ed will be greatly missed and especially cherished by all of his family for the great heritage and faith he left and his unconditional love.
