Emily Rose Zilke

Emily R. Zilke, 89 of Bridgman went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 19, 2022.

A funeral service will be held 11 AM Friday, May 27, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 9650 North Church Street, Bridgman with Reverend Thomas Fischer officiating. Friends may meet with the family 5 - 7 PM Thursday, May 26, at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church, PO Box 26, Bridgman, MI 49106 or Hospice at Home, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, MI 49085.

Emily was born on October 20, 1932 in Sawyer to the late John and Helen (Kading) Svorec. On April 2, 1955 she married Alan Zilke. Emily was the church secretary at Immanuel Lutheran Church until her retirement in 1998. She enjoyed painting, quilting and most of all spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her children: Dale (Julie) Zilke of Winchester, VA and Bruce (Sharon) Zilke of Hanover, MN; grandchildren: Jennifer (Frank) Clark, Ryan (Joellyn) Oldenburg, Nathan (Shannon Zilke), Melissa (Sam) Zilke, Joshua (Julia) Zilke, Joel (Eilish) Zilke, Ben Zilke, Dan Zilke, Zachary Zilke, and Emily Zilke; and twelve great grandchildren.

Emily was preceded in death by her husband Alan Zilke, daughter Cheryl and her husband John Oldenburg, her brothers Warren Svorec, John Svorec, Jerry Svorec, Skip Svorec, and her sister Shirley Manley-Erne.
