Evelyn L. Reitz, 93 of St. Joseph passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Pine Ridge Nursing Center, Stevensville.

A funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Zion United Church of Christ, 9100 Church Street, Baroda, with Reverend Christopher Noffke officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 4 - 7 PM Tuesday at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. Memorial contributions may be given to Zion United Church of Christ, PO Box 10, Baroda, MI 49101 or the St. Joseph Lincoln Senior Center, 3271 Lincoln Avenue, St. Joseph MI 49085.

Evelyn was born June 11, 1924 in Baroda the daughter of the late Paul A. Trapp and Elizabeth Oppermann. On August 25, 1945 she married Henry Jacob Reitz and he preceded her in death on July 1, 1992. Evelyn was a faithful member of Zion United Church of Christ and retired from Whirlpool Corporation after 37 years of service. She enjoyed dancing and volunteering at the St. Joseph Lincoln Senior Center. Most of all, Evelyn cherished her time with family and friends.

Survivors include two sons: Bradford (Bonnie) Reitz and Dr. Kelton (Todd Trimberger) Reitz; a daugther-in-law: Delores “Dee” Reitz; a grandson: John Reitz; two brothers: Charles Trapp and Lamar Trapp; and a sister: Betty Gaul.

Evelyn was also preceded in death by a son; Kent Reitz; a granddaughter: Heather Reitz; two brothers: Harold and Lyman Trapp; and three sisters: Loretta Hocott, Marcella Reitz and Aldythe Zech.
