Faith was born on July 26, 1936, in Morris, Illinois the daughter of the late Leonard and Frieda Weikert. On September 15, 1962, she married Bruce Swenson and they shared 60 years together raising their family.

Faith was a Midwesterner through and through. She loved her Bears and Bulls, especially the champion Bulls with Michael Jordan. She enjoyed fried chicken, potato salad, casseroles, pizza (with extra cheese), chocolate ice cream and fresh vegetables from wherever the closest farm stand was. She had her favorite places to eat too, from the Grand Mere Inn and Tosi’s to the White Fence Farm and the Wolf’s Head Inn.

She was a big collector of sea glass from Lake Michigan, but also from the ocean in Florida where she and Bruce spent numerous winter months. She also loved history and reading, and spent countless hours reading books, mostly fiction.

She collected clocks, which for years were wound weekly by Bruce. Any visit to the home in Western Springs or Michigan was met with the clocks’ various dings and dongs at the half hour and hour.

One of Faith’s favorite things to do was play games. She and Bruce played bridge and other card games early on, but when the family was around, Faith loved to play dominoes and especially Yahtzee, where she was really good at getting the sought after bonus. Games often continued late into the night.

She loved Christmas, and decorated the house and many Christmas trees with great care each year.

Faith had a soft spot for her children, grandchildren and great granddaughter, never forgetting a birthday or other special occasion. Every card she sent was picked out with care and covered in stickers.

Survivors include her husband: Bruce; children Scott (Jillian) Swenson and Greg (Becky) Swenson; grandchildren: Michael, Brian, Mae, Ben and Jake; great granddaughter Skylar; and sister: Barbara Pope.

Faith was preceded in death by her brother Paul Weikert.
