Frederick T. King, 99, of Sawyer, Michigan; formerly Chicago, at rest March 18, 2024.

Fred is survived by his partner of 48 years, Mary Jane Rumminger, sons: Thomas and Michael; grandchildren: Max, Christina and Ian; daughter-in-law; Lisa Cappelli. Fred was preceded by a son: Frederick, Jr.

A WW2 veteran, Fred served in the 398 th Bomb Group, Eighth Air Force. He graduated from the University of Illinois then joined Premier Engraving, his family’s graphic arts company in Chicago. He later founded King Graphics, one of the first in Chicago to offer digital imaging to advertising agencies. Fred was a talented athlete: an Illinois Senior Olympics tennis champion; marathon finisher, golfer into his 90s, scoring his age twice in his 80s. Mostly he was a dearly beloved partner, father, grandfather and friend. A private family memorial will be held.
