Gary Boyle

Gary Michael Boyle, 68, of Stevensville, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at St. John Catholic Church, 600 Columbus at Catalpa, Benton Harbor, with Father German Perez as celebrant. Friends may meet with the family from 5 - 7 PM Monday with a 6:30 Rosary at The Boyd Chapel of Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman.

Gary was born on Friday, May 6, 1949 in St. Joseph to the late E. Reginald and Dorothy (Katzbach) Boyle. On October 16, 1993 he married Judith Horton and they shared 23 years together. Gary loved his large family and did many favorite activities with them: fishing on the pier, vegetable gardening, and playing with the nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He had a tremendous sense of humor. Gary enjoyed music and was especially fond of the old rock-n-roll and swing music, as well as the Notre Dame Fight song, REO Speedwagon, and Shania Twain. He was a very giving person and a true servant.

Gary is survived by his wife: Judith “Chickie”; children: Laura Brunke, Lisa (Evert Vandeworp) Brunke, Lonna Maynard; grandchildren: Josef (Jamie) Ottusch, Alex Ottusch, Lena (Andrew) D’Agostino, Jessilyn Albanelli, Dylan St. Julien, Lydia St. Julien; great grandchildren: Tyler Ottusch, James Ottusch, Raelyn Rojas; siblings: Byron Boyle, Judith Lohraff, James Boyle; and many nieces and nephews.

Gary was also preceded in death by a sister, Gail Allen.
