The son of the late John Jr. and Julia (Kosik) Nuter, George was born on July 6, 1929, in Chicago. George graduated from St. Phillip High School in Chicago and then went on to serve in the United States Army during the Korean War, where he was stationed in Japan and Korea. On September 22, 1956 he was married to Elizabeth (Betty) Potokar. George started his 1st successful career at Chicago Paper Company as a paper salesman and was in the business until he “retired” at 67. He then began his 2nd careers as a golf ranger at Winnetka Golf Club and a buyer & seller of antiques at Lakeside Antique Mall.

George was a kind and generous man who always had a smile on his face. He was always willing to help others and loved to make people laugh. George was the ultimate jokester. He loved his family and spending time in the Florida Keys. He also loved spending time with friends in his neighborhood, the golf course, McDonalds, Lakeside Antique Mall, and the Navajo Bar & Grille.

He had many interests, including bowling, skiing, camping, fishing, golfing, running, repairing & selling antiques, playing keno, rapping, feeding seagulls, and at one point, had his pilot's license.

He is survived by his children Sharon, Jeff (Kris), Jana, Jimmy (Kari McCluskey), and his grandchildren Elizabeth, Patrick, Katherine, Christine, Mary Ellen, Anne Marie, Bridget, and his brother Dan.

George was preceded in death by his brothers Jimmy and John Nuter, his sister Eleanor Cibula and his late wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Potokar.
