Gladys Szygielski

Gladys M. Szygielski, 90, of Bridgman, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at her home.

Mrs. Szygielski was born March 24, 1917 in Bridgman the daughter of the late Adolph and Martha (Krumrie) Spitzer. She graduated from Bridgman High School in 1935. On November 30, 1941 she married Bruno Szygielski. Gladys attended business college and was employed at Citizen's Financial in Benton Harbor. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bridgman and in previous years had served on the Altar Guild. She cherished her family and friends. She enjoyed keeping in touch with her many long-standing friendships and many will miss the long telephone visits.

Survived By her "arm-in-arm life partner" and husband of 66 years, Bruno; two children – Michael (Michelle) Szygielski of Shawnee, Colorado and Tammy (Ken) Krug of Gaylord; three grandchildren – Colleen and Alison Szygielski of Shawnee, Colorado, and T.J. Krug of Columbus, Indiana; and a sister-in-law, Olga Williamson of St. Joseph. Preceded in Death By a granddaughter, Katie Krug on February 21, 2004; a brother, Lyle Spitzer; and a sister, Shirley Nickel.
