Herbert Gaul

Herbert William Gaul, 86, of Bridgman, a devoted husband and loving father went to join his Savior on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland, St. Joseph.

Herb was born April 4, 1922 in Stevensville the son of the late Gustav and Amelia (Binger) Gaul. He served in the US Army during WWII. On January 29, 1944 he married the former Esther Critzer. Herb retired from C & O Railroad in 1983 following over 40 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening, and being with his great grandchildren.

Survived By his wife of 64 years, Esther; two daughters – Patricia (Richard) Stelter and Karen (Kenneth) Burger all of Bridgman; five grandchildren – Kevin and Scott Stelter, Tina Laminack, Andrew Burger, and Carissa Pressnitz; seven great grandchildren – Jonathan Stelter, Kylee Burger, Rachel and Austin Laminack, Jason Pressnitz, Jennifer and Alyssa Stelter; two brothers – August (Jeanette) Gaul of Bridgman and Arnold (Adeline) Gaul of Stevensville; and three sisters – Margaret Williams of Eau Claire, Irene Ogonowski and Vera (Bill) Conway all of Stevensville. Preceded in Death By a brother, Albert Gaul; and a sister, Louise Mast.
