Herbert Ott

Herbert Robert Ott, 83 of Bridgman passed away Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, Sept. 6, 2013 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman, with Reverend Jon Bendewald officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 10-11 am Friday at the funeral home prior to the service. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 9650 N. Church Street, Bridgman. Herb was born January 28, 1930 in Baroda, the son of the late Fred A. and Edith (Gast) Ott. On October 16, 1954 he married Patricia R. Palmer and together they shared 58 years together. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. At fourteen years old he began working at Baroda Lumber where he learned the lumber trade. He retired from Glenlord Lumber in 1994

Survivors include his wife, Patricia of Bridgman; two daughters: Susan West of Midlothian, VA and Cynthia Payne of Stevensville: four sisters – Mabel Schmaltz, Lorraine Reifschneider, Shirley (Larry) Eber, and Donna Mach all of Baroda; a brother - Leslie (Connie) Ott of Bridgman

Herb was preceded in death by a sister Adeline Hasse and and three brothers - Ervin, Raymond and Norman Ott.
