James Kasper

James E. Kasper, 84 of Sawyer, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at home.

A Rosary will be held 11 AM Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Pike Funeral Home, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman, MI with Deacon Michael Gallagher officiating. Friends may meet with the family at the funeral home from 10-11 AM Thursday prior to the service. A Celebration of Life will continue until 12:00 at the funeral home. Jim was born April 12, 1933 in Melrose, IA the son of the late John and Leona (Lemonds) Kasper. Jim enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting and fishing. He retired from the Berrien County Road Commission where he was a heavy equipment operator. He was also a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara, two daughters Debbie Kasper and Diana (Jeff) Thompson, three grandchildren Jamie, Ryan and Kenner, a brother David (June) Kasper and a sister Kate Beary, and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Jackie and sister Mary Jo Goheen.
