Jerry “PeeWee” Golden Milliken, Jr., 59, of New Troy passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026 at his home.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 3 – 10 PM with storytelling at 7 PM at the New Troy American Legion Post 518, 4789 Weechik Rd., New Troy, MI 49119. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.
Jerry was born on September 3, 1966 in Buchanan the son of Jerry and Alice (Galbreath) Milliken, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of New Troy, MI. Jerry graduated from Evening Shade Highschool, Evening Shade, Arkansas in 1984. He dedicated much of his professional life to the Anstey Foundry in Stevensville, MI and later became a carpenter. You could also find him tinkering on many lawn mowers in his garage or driveway – a place that served as a gathering spot for friends and neighbors alike. Or he would provide parts for lawn mowers from his collection of mowers especially his favorite, Cub Cadets.
Pee Wee was a proud member of the New Troy American Legion where he served as Sergeant of Arms for the Sons of the Legion Post 518. You could find him there regularly for stories and camaraderie with a bottle of Bud Light or the occasional shot of Blackberry Brandy or Kessler. Or at other local watering holes such as: The Wolverine Garden, the Bungalow, or his favorite breakfast spot, Lydia’s Down Home Cooking.
Pee Wee had a zest for life that was evident in his many hobbies and interests. He had a keen eye for collecting antiques and “treasures”. He was always eager to share history, stories, and show off unique finds. Pee Wee was a frequent visitor to flea markets with his favorite New Troy ladies: Lori, Jamie, Cherri, Tina, Roxanne, and Rochelle! He attended many car shows with his brother Donnie in his younger years and had a love for old cars especially a 1966 Chevy Chevelle. He was blessed with 3 granddaughters who were his pride and joy along with his daughter. He enjoyed seeing them and letting them ride his three wheeled vintage bike, which many tried to buy from him but he always declined because he enjoyed seeing them ride it, and he enjoyed riding it too. He played in pool leagues with teammates on “Organized Confusion”, “New Troy Trojans” and in pool tournaments at the Legion on and off throughout his life. He enjoyed playing horse shoes, doing sudoku puzzles, solving wooden brain teaser puzzles, watching western movies galore, and hanging out with his plethora of friends.
Pee Wee was known jokingly as “The Mayor of New Troy”, because he was the go-to person for town information. His garage and driveway were always open, a welcoming space where laughter and storytelling flowed as freely as the coffee he brewed every morning, the Bud Light that could be found in his fridge, or the popsicles in his freezer for all the local kids that walked by. His infectious laugh was a hallmark of his personality, a melody that will continue to echo in the hearts of all who had the pleasure
to hear it. He had a big heart and was always willing to help and give a lending hand if he could. You could often find him riding lawn mowers, scooters, mopeds, or a go-kart around in his younger years around town with a smile on his face, a hat on his head, and a laugh coming out of him.
Jerry was a cherished man of the community and leaves a legacy of stories, laughter, and unwavering friendships behind. Though his presence will be deeply missed, the love, laughter, and jokes he shared will forever remain in our hearts.
Survivors include his children: James Milliken and Liz Milliken; three grandchildren: Emily, Olivia, and Scarlet Rohl; mother: Alice Guess; brother: Donald (Melinda)
Milliken; sisters: Donna Charles, Doreen (Delmon) Brown, and Susan (David) Ufer; brother-in-law: Tony; half-brothers: Kevin and Jeremy; half-sisters: Melissa, Jennifer, and step sister: Sherry. He had several nieces and nephews.
