Karin Schmieskors

Karin Anna Schmieskors, 59, of Bridgman, formerly of North Carolina, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2014 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville, Michigan.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 9650 N. Church Street, Bridgman, MI with Reverend Martin P. Measel officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 PM Friday, at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, Bridgman, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 4333 Cleveland Avenue, Stevensville, MI 49127.

Karin was born November 7, 1954 in St. Joseph the daughter of the late Erich and Edith (Lehmann) Manzke. She attended Bridgman High School and went to work at Heathkit, in St. Joseph. She married Douglas Schmieskors on July 23, 1976 and he preceded her in death on March 10, 2012. While living in North Carolina she worked at Avnet, Inc. in their electronics sales department for over 25 years and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Burlington, NC. Karin loved being with her family and friends. Cooking and entertaining guests, and having her cats around her brought her much joy. She had a very positive outlook on life.

Survivors include her sisters - Annemarie (John) Condia of Orange, California and Christine (Tim) Quardokus of Bridgman; niece - Kristin Condia; nephews - Erik Condia, Michael Condia, Nicholas Quardokus and Christopher Quardokus.
