Katherine Christine Geik, 72, of Bridgman passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 579 Sawyer Road, Sawyer, with Reverend Brandon Wittig officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 10-11 AM prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Sawyer. Katherine was born on January 18, 1954, in Michigan City, Indiana, the daughter to the late Arthur and Adeline (Strefling) Geik. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sawyer. She enjoyed playing guitar, writing music, and singing Christian and Bluegrass music with her brother and sister and other family members. She was Miss Sawyer and Blossomtime Miss Congenitally in 1971. She held that crown until the 1980 when the Miss Sawyer Contest was brought back to life. She was beautiful in mind, spirit, and had personality that never stopped.

Survivors include her children: Kori (Bill) Johnston of Crestwood KY and Kamron Mensinger of Louisville, KY; grandchildren: Kat Mensinger, Gracie and Beau Watkins; brother: Ronald (Cheryl) Geik of Culver, IN: sister: Susan (John) Polishuk of Sawyer.

She was also preceded in death by her son: Kyle Mensinger in 2006.
