On Sunday, June 5, 2022, Kevin Mark Schoen transitioned to Glory to the Place reserved for him (1 Pet. 1:3-4) from before the foundation of the world (Eph. 1:3-6) where he was welcomed Home by his Redeemer, Jesus Christ God’s Son.
Kevin was born on October 26, 1963, in Coldwater, Michigan, the son of Pastor Maynard and Joan (Bowditch) Schoen. After graduating from Berrien Springs High School in 1981, he went on to pursue a degree in Computer Science at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana. After graduating in 1985, he took a position with Whirlpool Corporation, kickstarting a career in Information Technology for 36 years. He then went on to establish a business of his own, Software Solutions, and continued helping his clients with their IT needs until spring of 2022.
Kevin enjoyed golfing with his dad, water skiing, camping, weightlifting, and teaching tae kwon do. His camping trips with his sister, Laurie, along with his trips with his mom and dad to Ft. Myers Beach, Florida, were vacations he looked forward to every year. Kevin was an educator at heart. He was kind and patient, always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. Above all, Kevin was a loving son, brother, uncle, and spouse to his dog, Lani.
Survivors include his parents and sisters: Laurie (Doug) Walton and Lynette (Todd) Angood; niece: Kim (Mark) Demchak and their children: Eli and Callen; and nephew: Jason Walton.
A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Berrien Center Bible Church, 8830 M-140, Berrien Center, MI 49102. Friends may meet with the family from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman, MI 49106.
