Larry Jerome Thompson, 75, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville.

Born on November 20, 1951, in St. Joseph, Michigan, Larry was the son of the late Ernest Sr. and Wanda Burrow Thompson.

He fought a valiant and unwavering battle against cancer, meeting every challenge with remarkable strength, grace, and determination. His perseverance allowed him to live far beyond initial expectations, offering his family and friends precious time marked by courage and love. Larry will be remembered for his steadfast spirit, his deep devotion to those he cared for, and the dignity with which he faced life’s most difficult moments.

After graduating from Benton Harbor High School, Larry served in the United States Navy. He then worked as a toolmaker for several companies throughout his career. He loved to bake from scratch, was passionate about cooking, and in his early years enjoyed fishing, hunting, and bowling on a league with his wife for many years.

Survivors include his loving wife, Sharon; daughters, Mandie Blankenship and Bunni Wheeler; sisters, Sheryl (Tom) Pierce, Dessie Burtchett, and Diane (John) Demler; along with several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Denise A. Nieman.

Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman.
