Linda was born on October 16, 1947 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to the late Ronald and Berniece (Scheibel) Miller. She was a graduate of Lakeshore High School, Class of 1966. On June 27, 1970, she was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Jim Keefer. As a longtime member of Baroda Bible Church, Linda appreciated her church family and was a member of the choir. She was very proud of her son, Matt, and enjoyed attending his Lakeshore baseball and football games. Linda cherished her dear friends and extended family including many nieces, nephews and cousins who shared immense kindness as Linda faced with a joyful spirit the difficult challenges in her life journey. No matter the circumstances, Linda was known by all to be happy and resilient. Her warm personality and generous heart made her a fun favorite among all who knew her. She will live on in our fond memories and will be dearly missed.
Linda was blessed to have a lifelong mentor and friend in the late “Aunt” Jean Ott, who nurtured Linda through the years, starting with helping Linda secure her very first job as a Nurse’s Aide at Mercy Hospital.
She is survived by her son, Matthew Keefer of Colorado; her sisters and brothers-in-laws: Barbara and Randy Arnt of Dallas, and Diana and Don Kamp of Stevensville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Keefer, an infant son, and her parents, Ron and Berniece Miller. Also, Grandparents, Bob and June Miller, and Charles and Grace Scheibel.
We appreciate the recent excellent care at Westwoods of Bridgman. Our family remains grateful to the wonderful kindhearted Petrona Bodley and her incredible staff who made the autumn of Linda’s life so very happy. The last two weeks, the dedicated and compassionate Hanson Hospice nurses filled Linda’s heart, and ours too, with grace, comfort, and peace.
Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman, MI.
