Lois Jean Boyd, 95, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024, at A Place Called Home in Stevensville, Michigan.
At this time, the family will be remembering Lois privately. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Lois was born on December 2, 1928, in Sawyer, Michigan, the daughter of the late John and Clara (Kugler) Sonnenberg. She met and married Ernest Dinges on June 7, 1947, and he preceded her in death on January 21, 1958.
Lois was very active in her church, Trinity Lutheran, Sawyer, Michigan. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing Yahtzee, reading, and watching Wheel of Fortune. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Lois will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her children: Ellen (Mark) Grover, Lana Dinges, Lynda (Joseph) Svoboda, Mark Boyd and Kirk Boyd. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law, Marcia Dinges, and sisters Joann Trapp and Mona Angolin.
In addition to her first husband and parents, Lois was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Dinges, brother, Arthur Sonnenberg, and second husband, William L. Boyd, Jr.
The family would like to thank Meagan Frye and her entire staff at A Place Called Home for taking exceptional care of our mother. We would also like to thank Hospice at Home.
