Lorene Milliken

Lorene Joyce Milliken, 74 of Berrien Springs passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018 at her home on the care of her family.

Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at The Boyd Chapel of Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of the service.  Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Lorene was born March 21, 1944 in Elijah, Missouri the daughter of the late Claude and Gerthie (Fogelman) Tackitt. Lorene  worked at Shawnee Specialties in Eau Claire for over 30 years and was a hard working, strong women. She was a member of St. Joseph Church of Christ. Lorene has always loved to be outside mowing her lawn or trimming her hedges.  She said it always made her feel good to be out riding on her lawn mower.  Of course you had to properly clean them and take care of them at all times! She loved to look out her back door and watch for any deer in the field, secretly hatting it when the boys went out back hunting, hoping they would find them.

Lorene loved watching the humming birds out her front window, her chair positioned just right to watch them in her flowers. She loved to sew, she was the family seamstress so to speak. She hemmed and repaired all of the families clothing. She also loved making doll clothes for her great grandchildren. Her most favorite thing to do was to read, you could always find her with a book in her hands. Some of her greatest times were when her grandchildren cam to visit, she adored them.

Survivors include her daughter: Robin (Scott) Freeman; a son: Robert Milliken, Sr.; grandchildren: Andrew (Aimee) Clay, Robert (Tina) Milliken, Jr. and Dana (John) Brandt; and six great grandchildren.

Lorene was also preceded in death by two daughter-in-laws; Charlene and Shannon.
