Mary Lucille D’Amato, 73, of Stevensville passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph.

A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Zion United Church of Christ in Baroda with Rev. Christopher Noffke officiating. Friends may meet with the family at church from 10 AM until the time of the service. As an expression of sympathy, floral tributes may be sent for the service or memorial contributions may be given to Chicago Children’s Shriners Hospital.

MaryLu was born December 17, 1934 in Youngstown, Ohio the daughter of the late Bert and Mary (DeLucia) Villiott. On September 26, 1953 she married Benedict R. D’Amato. She had owned and operated Country Mouse Florist and Gift Shop in New Buffalo. MaryLu attended Zion United Church of Christ in Baroda and was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Sarasota, Florida. She enjoyed tole and china painting.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Benedict; two children – Mark (Carol) D’Amato of Sarasota, Florida and Lynn (Dennis Mizak) D’Amato of Stevensville; four grandchildren – Nico D’Amato, Ryder D’Amato, Adam Benke, and Zachary Benke; a brother, Robert (Betty) Villiott of Virginia; an “adoptive daughter,” Patti (Pete) Kenworthy; “adoptive grandchildren” – Chelsie Kenworthy and Joshua Noffke.

MaryLu was preceded in death by a brother, Bert Villiott.
