Mary Louise Schlewitt, 97, of Bridgman passed away on Friday, February 24, 2107 at West Woods of Bridgman.

A funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at The Boyd Chapel of Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman, MI. Friends may meet with the family from 10 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Zion United Church of Christ, 9100 Third Street, Baroda MI 49101 or River Valley Senior Center, 13321 Red Arrow Hwy, Harbert MI 49115.

Mary was born January 25, 1920 in Urbana, Illinois the daughter of the late Gus and Ruth (Powers) Boswell. On July 24, 1948 she married Robert J. Schlewitt and he preceded her in death on Mother’s Day 1975. Mary was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Baroda and enjoyed swimming and water aerobics at the Bridgman Aquatic Center. She danced at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago extensively.

Survivors include her daughter Cheryl (Rene) Evans of Bridgman and a granddaughter, Christina Evans.

Mary was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Boswell and two sisters, Barbara Hetzel Paulson and Marjorie Beers.
