Mary Louise Shaffer, 76, of Bridgman passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Hanson Hospice Center, among her family.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Stevensville United Methodist Church, 5506 Ridge Rd, Stevensville, MI 49127. The visitation will begin at 10 AM with the service at 11:30 AM, with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at PO Box 22324, New York, NY 10087. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.

 

Mary was born on January 28, 1947, in Crawfordsville, IN, daughter of Harold and Mary Louise Breeden. Mary was a Medical Assistant, Hollywood Elementary School Secretary and Credit Union Loan Officer. On October 30, 1966, she married Richard, her high school sweetheart.

 

Mary was a devout Christian, her and Richard have been members of Stevensville United Methodist Church for over 45 years. They’ve been members of Corvette Coventry for 29 years and have a love for car shows and anywhere they could show their numerous Corvettes. She enjoyed golfing, family, friends and volunteering at the St. Joseph Carousel and Marie Yeager Cancer Center. Mary’s smile was genuine, her laugh was contagious and she led a fulfilled life.

 

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 56 years: Richard; two children: Denise (Tim) Simpson of Tecumseh, MI and Mike (Terri) Shaffer of Williamsburg, VA; three grandchildren; Carlie Shaffer, Samantha Wright and Grant Simpson; two brothers: Bruce (Arleta) Breeden of Carmel, IN and Tom (Sue) Breeden of Plymouth, IN and four nieces.

 

Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman.
