Matilda Sonnenberg

Matilda “Mutt” Martha Sonnenberg, 89 of Sawyer passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5791 Sawyer Road, Sawyer with Reverend Randy D. Lett officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 5-7 PM Monday, Sept. 25, at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Memorials may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, PO Box 247, Sawyer, MI 49125.

Mutt was born May 30, 1928 in Berrien Springs the daughter of the late Carl and Augusta (Hebner) Rudlaff. On Sept. 24, 1949 she married Arthur Richard Sonnenberg and he preceded her in death on May 26, 2002. Mutt was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sawyer.

Survivors include her son: Donald (Cheryl) Sonnenberg; grandchildren: Brianna (Andrew) Wilson and Nathan Sonnenberg, Dustin and Samantha Deringer; two great grandsons; two brothers: Robert (Mary Jane) Rudlaff and John (Midge) Rudlaff.
