Michael Dean Cortson, 70, of St. Joseph passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 from Covid-19.

Mike was born August 6, 1951, the son of the late Arthur Dean and Shirley Jean (Binger) Cortson in Benton Harbor. He grew up in Baroda. He was a retired lawyer who was also a musician, singer and golfer. Michael published many books including “Winning Thinking” and hosted a local radio show on happiness for several years. He was kind and funny and loved by many, he will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his daughter: Allison Powers; siblings: Kim Lampl, Sue Dubar and Lance Cortson; his loving companion: Maxine Edwards and two grandchildren; Lily and Alden Powers.
Michael was also preceded in death by a brother Matthew Cortson.
