Mrs. Barfelz was born September 30, 1921 in Bridgman the daughter of the late Andrew and Rose (Mashke) Ott. On September 6, 1947 she married Marvin E. Barfelz and he preceded her in death on December 12, 1989. Mildred was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bridgman.

Mildred was also preceded in death by two sisters – Alma and Ann Swedenberg; and six brothers – Fred, Arthur, Paul, Ernest, Richard and Lawrence Ott.
