Mildred “Millie” Josephine Davis, 94, of Sawyer passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025 at West Woods of Bridgman Nursing Center, Bridgman.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman with Rev. Aaron Messinger officiating. Friends may meet with the family on Friday from 10-11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Troy Cemetery. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.
Millie was born on March 19, 1931 in North Judson, Indiana the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Sramek) Konecny. She grew up in Gun Lake, Michigan and graduated from Wayland High School. On October 7, 1950 she married Virgil Edward Davis and he preceded her in death on March 14, 2017. Millie played the violin, she was first chair in her high school orchestra but gave up playing to raise nine children. Much to the delight of her children and grandchildren, she resumed playing later in life. Millie worked for 25 years as a cook at Jordan’s Nursing Home in Bridgman.
Survivors include her children: Linda (Gary) Witkowski, Donald (Beth) Davis, Deana (Randy) Wisnaski, Virgin (Donna) Davis, Cindy (Dan) Bickerstaff, Byron (Linda) Davis, Lisa Varin, Lloyd (Cheryle) Davis, and Nona Dolan; 28 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
Millie was also preceded in death by her siblings: Mary Chadderdon and Frank Konecny.
Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman.
