Myrtle Baggett

Myrtle Lucille Baggett, 88, of Bridgman passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Jordan’s Nursing Home, Bridgman.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, December 13 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sawyer with Rev. Kendall L. Schaeffer officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family from 5-8 PM Friday at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church Home Fund, Hospice at Home, or the River Valley Senior Center.

Mrs. Baggett was born January 28, 1920 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas the daughter of the late Charlie and Ruby (Seymour) Lewis. On November 6, 1937 she married Henry Baggett and he preceded her in death on December 2, 1958. Myrtle was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sawyer.

Survivors include five daughters – Ruby (Robert) Schaffer of Buchanan, Faye (Jim) Higgins of St. Joseph, Pat (Ken) Mattner of Baroda, Clara (Mike) LaVanway of St. Joseph, and Frances (Art) Pearce of Sawyer; two sons – Glenn (Brenda) Baggett of Shaw, Mississippi, and Roy (Cheryl) Baggett of Bridgman; 28 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; many great great grandchildren; and a sister, Charlene (Jim) Miller of Peru, Indiana.

Myrtle was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Baggett; a grandson, Ricky; a great grandson, Adain; and nine brothers and sisters.
