Patricia Ponegalek

Patricia Ponegalek of Union Pier, Michigan is peacefully resting in the heavens. She passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville, Michigan.

Patricia was born September 15, 1938 in Benton Harbor the daughter of the late Charles and Ethel (Navroth) Sidwell. She grew up in Benton Harbor and on May 30, 1958 she married David Ponegalek of Lakeside and they settled and raised their family in Three Oaks. She was a very loving wife and mother. Her employers over the years were First National Bank in Benton Harbor, an aide at Three Oaks Elementary, and also Heston Restaurant to help provide for her family. She enjoyed her work and made many good and lasting friendships during that time as well. Her passion was her children, always working hard for them and always at every event as they grew up. She cherished her grandchildren which were a special part of her life and gave her the strength to battle the very ugly disease of cancer.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, David; daughters - Tammie (Dave) Kissman and Lisa (Brian) Schroeder; sons - Scott Ponegalek and David (Amy) Ponegalek; grandchildren - Andrew (Enida) Kissman, Heather Ponegalek, Aaron Kissman, and Daniel Ponegalek; sisters - Char Menser and Debbie Sidwell, and multiple nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter Kimberly Ponegalek.
