Patricia Spletzer

Patricia Jane Spletzer, 80, of Stevensville passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Lakeland Continuing Care, St. Joseph.

A memorial service will be held 11 AM Thursday, April 21, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Stevensville. Friends may meet with the family from 5-7 PM on Wednesday at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman. Burial will be in Hickory Bluff Cemetery, Stevensville. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Pat was born January 22, 1931 in Rankin, Illinois the daughter of the late Robert and Mildred (Leemon) Sloan. She graduated from Rankin High School as Valedictorian and then attended the University of Illinois. On February 2, 1957 she married Eldon Spletzer. Pat worked for Dr. Dale Smith in Bridgman for several years and retired to help her husband in his business, Spletzer Model Shop. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Stevensville. Pat enjoyed her children and grandchildren, swimming in Lake Michigan, gardening, and canning homemade sauerkraut and pickles.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Eldon; three daughters – Shelley (Jay) Gleason of Whitehall, Michigan, Tracy (David) Honus of Santa Clara, California, and Jamie (Bryan) Styburski of Eau Claire; four grandchildren – Kevin (Erin) Gleason, Tricia (Nick) Bulson, Kyle Styburski, and Gavin Styburski; two great grandchildren – Evan and Ellie Gleason; and a sister, Shirley (Stanley) Schofield of Danville, Illinois.

Patricia was preceded in death by a son, Lance Spletzer, in 2006 and an infant brother, James Sloan.
