Phyllis Gerdes

Phyllis Jean Gerdes, 85, of Bridgman passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in the care of her family at her son’s home in Watervliet.

A family graveside service will be held 12:30 PM CST, Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 6001 W. 111th Street, Alsip, Illinois.

Phyllis was born December 8, 1930 in Merrill, Wisconsin the daughter of the late Leslie and Margaret (Wery) Kell. On June 2, 1951 she married Thomas Joseph Gerdes and he preceded her in death on July 17, 2008. Phyllis was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bridgman.

Survivors include three children – Thomas L. Gerdes of Watervliet, Linda (Richard) Kasal of Manteno, Illinois, and Lori Gerdes of Stevensville; four grandchildren: Heather Chiarello, Brandon Chiarello, Pamela (Scott) Robbins, and Gregory Kasal; two great granddaughters: Riley Kasal and Gracie Robbins.
